The chaplaincy team work closely with the leadership team of the school along with pupils and their families. The chaplaincy team enact and promote the school ethos and work with all staff to establish and maintain a well-balanced school community.

Role of the Chaplain

The role of the Chaplain is wide and varied, and can involve teaching RE, meeting students on an individual basis, organising liturgies and prayers, facilitating fundraising events, providing retreats for year groups and participating in activities that relate to the well-being and development of the school community.

At Laurel Hill Secondary School FCJ we are fortunate to have our school chapel adjoined to the school building. This is the place where school masses, prayer services and school graduations take place. It is also a quiet space where students can reflect and take some time out from the busy school day. In addition to this, the chaplaincy team also have an RE room. This is used as a meeting point for students to meet with the chaplaincy team in a quiet and reflective space.

The chaplaincy team in the school can be contacted via the school office on 061-319383.
