Mobile Phone Usage
The use of mobile phones is not permitted from 8:00 am – 3:45 pm (Monday & Tuesday)/3:05 pm (Wednesday, Thursday & Friday) – this includes break and lunch time. Mobile phones are to be switched off on entering the school grounds and can be turned on again after pupils exit at the end of the school day. During toilet breaks, students will be asked to leave their phones in the class they are attending at that time.

If any pupil is found to be using a mobile phone during school hours, the following action will be taken:
1st Offence
The student’s phone will be confiscated and given to the Deputy Principal(s). A meeting will be arranged between the pupil whose phone has been confiscated and the Deputy Principal(s). The phone will be returned to the pupil at the end of the school day. The pupil will be given a weekly detention timeslot to attend – this will take place on a nominated Friday from 3:15 pm – 4:15 pm in the school library.
2nd Offence
The student’s phone will be confiscated and given to the Deputy Principal(s). A meeting will be arranged between the pupil whose phone has been confiscated and the Deputy Principal(s). The phone must be collected by the Parent(s)/Guardian(s) of the pupil by 4:00 pm on the day of confiscation. The pupil will be given a weekly detention timeslot to attend – this will take place on a nominated Friday from 3:15 pm – 4:15 pm in the school library.
3rd Offence
The student’s phone will be confiscated and given to the Deputy Principal(s). A meeting will be arranged between the pupil whose phone has been confiscated and the Principal/Deputy Principal(s). The phone must be collected by the Parent(s)/Guardian(s) of the pupil by 4:00 pm on the day of confiscation. A €10.00 donation to charity must be paid for the confiscated phone to be returned. The pupil will be given a weekly detention timeslot to attend – this will take place on a nominated Friday from 3:15 pm – 4:15 pm in the school library.
NOTE: Pupils will be permitted to access Teams via their phone/device in the first 30 minutes while attending supervised study after school.
